Time To Hit The Streets

Welcome! It occurred to me that since there are a couple of months until the Pilot Season voting, and I want to keep word about Twilight Guardian out there, giving her a blog of her own might not be such a bad idea. So if you have any questions or thoughts about our nocturnal sentinel, this would be the place! Just drop me a line, and I'll hook you up. And hey...make sure that come August, you do what the gent on our right suggests! ------->

I loved the book...but since reading some of the comments on other blogs I am confused. People to justifiably love the comic..but there seems to some reservation as to whether the subject is more suited to a one shot. Troy...if people love the book and your writing, why would they think you couldn't sustain an interesting story arc through an entire mini-series?..it seems to me like there is much more to say about Twilight Guardian ...what gives?

Well...Lea, is it? I guess it's normal to raise the question of sustainability, given the fact that the book is fairly self-contained in and of itself. However, I think what some of the folks aren't considering is that probably some of the fictional works they love might have initially been self-contained, but were able to branch out into an even larger overall story. The first Star Wars movie, for example. If it hadn't done big box office, it still would've been a very enjoyable story itself, but I'll bet a lot of folks are glad it continued.

Now, with Twilight Guardian, I'll grant you that it's harder for folks to imagine a continuing series, or even a mini-series, since there's no blowing up of deathstars or Ewok battles (thank Zod!). I have faith, however, that my readers are sharp enough to know that much more can be done with TG, without destroying what she intrinsically is, and I hope they have enough faith in me to believe I'm the man who can tell that story.

By the way, Lea, while you might leave something to be desired as a devil's advocate, you're sure one hell of a girlfriend.

When it comes to the voting, how exactly does one do that? The Top Cow site seems to do a remarkable job of announcing the project without a single clue on how to actually partake of it...

Toastmaster General, as I understand it, when all six books have been released in August (knock on wood), the voting will start, and each person will be able to vote once a day while the polls are open (however long that is). I think you'll vote on the Pilot Season Myspace page, though there might be other places too.

I think it is a trick, we need to vote early and often. To the interweb polls!
